Shetland Sweater in Cirrus

$175

Shetland wool is an ideal fiber for cool weather. It has a reputation for warmth and hardiness, and is shorn from resilient sheep in remote counties of Scotland. Once the wool is dyed and milled, these richly-colored yarns then travel to a nearby knitter that has been an industry leader for over 100 years. There, the sweaters are knit in a “fully fashioned” method - a traditional technique that results in a completely seamless garment.

The soft gray backdrop of this sweater reveals a secret when studied closely—a rainbow of gossamer threads peek out from the neutral tones. This sweater has been brushed to further enhance the airy appearance of these unique yarns.

Fit

Fabric

Shetland wool is famed for its warmth and durability, making it an ideal layer for the winter months. This multicolored yarn is sourced from a Scottish mill that has milled Shetland wool for nearly 200 years.

Factory

Our sweaters are knit by a family-owned factory in Scotland that has been an industry leader for over 100 years. These sweaters are ‘full-fashioned,’ meaning that they are knitted in one continuous piece which results in a seamless garment. While most knitwear is made from cut panels that are sewn together, ours are made in the most traditional method. There aren’t many factories left that will produce sweaters in this way, and we’re lucky to partner with one that still uses these techniques.
